Suzuki's Hat Trick Leads Attack to Victory

Nick Suzuki had a hat trick to lift the Owen Sound Attack over Windsor 9-2.

Jonah Gadjovich scored and set up two for Owen Sound. Kevin Hancock had a three point night with three assists.

Maksim Sushko opened the scoring for Owen Sound just over two minutes into the game and Suzuki's first less than 10 minutes later put the Attack up 2-0 heading into the second.

Mitchell Russell's goal at 7:33 of the second would stand as the game winner. Mathew MacDougall put the Spitfires on the board 18 seconds later. Daylon Groulx and Suzuki scored less than a minute apart around the halfway point to give the Attack a 5-1 lead. Jonah Gadjovich added to the Attack's five goal second period at 13:05. Ethan Szypula added a power play goal 17 minutes into the middle frame and Marino Moro scored 43 seconds later to make it 8-1 Attack heading into the third.

Suzuki completed his hat trick at 4:08 of the final frame. Jake Smith scored for Windsor halfway through the period.

Olivier Lafreniere earned the win with 17 saves. Michael DiPietro stopped 17 of 21 shots before being replaced by Stratford native and former Listowel Cyclone Brock Baier midway through the second. Baier allowed five goals on 21 shots in relief.
