Longtime Cyclones Volunteer Jim Scott Passes Away

The Listowel Cyclones have released a statement regarding the news on the passing of longtime Cyclones volunteer Jim Scott.

"On Wednesday, February 28, Jim Scott skated away to join the spirits in hockey heaven, his earthly strides never to be filled by another," the team said in a statement Thursday afternoon. "With heavy hearts the Listowel Cyclones must announce the death of Jim Scott. Jim has been volunteering with our team for over 50 years! He has done so much for the Cyclones, helping out with anything from selling draw tickets to helping pack the bus for away games. Jim meant so much to this organization.

"Not only was he our biggest fan, he was apart of our team! Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and close friends. Jim will always be with us at our games, home and away. He will always be remembered.

"Rest peacefully Jimmy — We know you will always be looking down on us to watch the Cyclones."

The team is asking people to join them on Sunday from 1pm until 4pm and 7pm until 9pm for the visitation at the Eaton funeral home, and on Monday, March 5 at 2pm at the Knox Presbyterian church in Listowel for the funeral.
