Municipal Support For Huron Shores Transit Initiative

The Huron Shores Transit Initiative is getting ready to submit its application for funding to the Ministry of Transportation.

Co-Chair Glen Baillie says they've been successful in getting letters of support from various municipal councils, including Bluewater, South Huron, North Middlesex and Kettle and Stoney Point.

Baillie says they are ready to finalize the application so they can meet the February 28 deadline.

The Initiative is applying for two streams of funding; one is for 500-thousand dollars for what's being called in-town service, and the other is for regional service, and that one is for $1.5-million.

Their goal is to create a publicly accessible transit system that would cover Lambton Shores, North Middlesex, Grand Bend, South Huron and part of Bluewater.
