Flu Outbreak Spreads To Seaforth Hospital

More flu cases are being reported at Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance hospitals.

The Seaforth Community Hospital is now in outbreak status due to three cases of hospital-acquired influenza. And there are now eight cases in the Medicine-Integrated Stroke Unit at Stratford General Hospital.

Those visiting infected patients will be required to wear a mask, gloves and gown and must discard these before leaving the patient’s room.

Visitors must use the hand sanitizer provided to wash their hands when they enter and leave the hospital, and entering and leaving a patient’s room.

Patient movement on the units has also been limited, and shared lounges in the Seaforth hospital have been closed.

The Healthcare Alliance is urging visitors who are not feeling well to stay away from the hospitals.
