A letter sent by an East Wawanosh resident to North Huron Council on their proposed increase to taxation had a lot of councilors talking on Monday.
The letter quoted recent coverage of North Huron budget proceedings, and asked who is in charge of deciding which expenditures are necessary in North Huron.
Councillor Ray Hallahan, who represents East Wawanosh, says residents need to understand that the proposed 14.7% increase to taxation is only a starting point.
Councillor Brock Vodden also took issue with the letter, saying while they appreciate residents providing input to council, material like this paints council in a bad light.
