United Way Perth-Huron On Pace To Raise More Than Ever

United Way Perth-Huron is celebrating another accomplishment.

The organization's fundraising total has surpassed the $1-million mark, with the goal set at $1.5-million.

The LCBO and the Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance are two of United Way’s top donors.

The LCBO contributed $62,992 from its "Give Back Where You Live at the Till" campaign and the Healthcare Alliance contributed $60,036 from its workplace campaign.

United Way Perth-Huron supports almost 50 organizations and services across the two counties.

"We knew the $1.5-million we asked for at the beginning of the campaign was courageous, but we set it to reflect the needs in the community," UWPH Executive Director Ryan Erb says. "Thanks to our great communities, volunteers and staff, we’re on pace to raise more than we ever have before."

Perth-Huron volunteers have been using a combination of canvassing at workplaces, corporate donations, and unique events to raise awareness and provide opportunities to support the annual campaign.

The ABBA and Bee Gees tribute show on Saturday, January 27th at 8:00 pm at the Stratford Rotary Complex is such an event. To purchase tickets, go to www.perthhuron.unitedway.ca, call or visit the United Way offices or Treasures Stratford at 151 Ontario St.
