Officer Injured After Vehicle Driven Into Police Blockade

A Huron-Kinloss man wanted by provincial police is facing charges after a vehicle crashed into a police blockade, injuring three people including a police officer.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Saturday, officers set up the blockade after a wanted man was seen driving on Bruce Rd. 6 in Ripley. The vehicle crashed into the blockade and damaged two OPP cruisers, along with another civilian passenger vehicle that was struck a short distance away. The wanted man then fled his vehicle but was arrested after a short foot chase.

A male and female in the damaged passenger vehicle suffered minor injuries in the crash. A South Bruce OPP officer was also injured and attended the hospital to be treated for a fractured wrist.

Glenn William O'Neill, 30, of Huron-Kinloss, who was originally wanted by police for uttering threats while wielding a firearm, is facing a number of charges.
