Huron Economic Development Department Hosting Job Fair

Huron County's Economic Development Department is hosting a job fair in London later this month.

Huron Immigration Liaison Kristin Crane says it won't be like any other job fair, hence the name Not Just Another Job Fair. Crane says the department is hoping to add 500 people to the Huron County job force this year. With that target in mind, they're asking applicants to come to the job fair prepared to have an interview, and employers should be prepared to conduct interviews.  The interviews could either be a preliminary interview or a hiring interview, so applicants should also bring their resumes with them.

“We thought we'd do that in London where the unemployment rates are actually higher and we also know that there's a larger number of new immigrants and new refugees and their unemployment rates tend to be even higher then the rest of the population," says Crane.

The Not Just Another Job Fair will be held on Saturday, January 27 at the Thames Valley District School Board Education Centre, at 1250 Dundas St. in London, from 9am-4pm.
