New Grey County Warden Ready For 2018

Grey Highlands Deputy Mayor Stewart Halliday is the new warden of Grey County.

County councillors elected him to the position in front of about 100 people at council's annual inaugural meeting Tuesday.

Halliday says his job is to ensure projects already on the go are as successful as possible. "Focus on what we have in 2018 and there's a lot of great initiatives out there now so my job is to continue to make some of the great things we've got going happen," says Halliday.

He adds he wants the best for all the citizens of the county. "Age friendly means right from cradle to the grave. Twenty-five per cent of our population will be seniors but then there's the other 75 per cent. We have to make sure we're looking after everybody."

Halliday defeated West Grey Deputy Mayor John Bell who was the only other councillor to run for the position of Grey County warden.
