National Skating Day Party In Central Huron

Central Huron is throwing a party this Sunday.

Community Improvement Coordinator Angela Smith explains Sunday is National Skating Day and the final celebration for Canada's 150th birthday so they're inviting the young and not-so-young to join them for a skating party at the Clinton Arena on Sunday afternoon. She says the first fifty kids will get a nice bright red Canada 150 touque and she'll have special Canada 150 flags for them to wave while they skate.

Smith says they'll also have hot chocolate and special treats, baked by the hospitality class at Central Huron Secondary School. The party runs from 2:30 till 4:30 on Sunday afternoon for kids and adults and it's all free.

“It's Canada's National Skating Day and it's the final celebration for Canada's 150th birthday and we are participating in Central Huron by having a free skating party at the Clinton Arena.”

“The first 50 children will get a Canada 150 nice bright red touque to keep them nice and warm throughout the Canadian winter that's coming up. As well we have hot chocolate and there will be treats available.”
