Bruce Grey Child And Family Services Foundation Merge With United Way

Fundraising efforts to help those in need are being streamlined.

The Bruce Grey Child and Family Services Foundation is merging with the United Way of Bruce and Grey. The Child and Family Services Foundation is the organization's fundraising arm.

Board Chair Tim Nicol says often there's a duplication of fundraising efforts by the two organizations. He says it makes sense to be formally working together.

"One of the biggest benefits to doing this is the ability to streamline the fundraising efforts and get as much money into the pockets of the families that are in need throughout Grey and Bruce counties," says Nicol.

United Way Board Chair Nick Lovell says often there's an overlap in their fundraising programs.

"Rather than competing for the same donors it makes more sense to allow the donors one spot to donate to all of those programs to benefit the community," he says.

Nicol points out the programs Child and Family Services provide are not all fully funded by the province and depend on fundraising.
