New Facility in Arran-Elderslie To Supply Bruce Power

Bruce Power has another new supplier -- this one is setting up a facility near Paisley.

ABRAFLEX has purchased a manufacturing facility on 44 acres of land in Arran-Elderslie.

ABRAFLEX has become a manufacturer of plastic suits for use in radiation protection. The plastic suits are used for personnel safety for work completed during outages in all units in both Bruce A and Bruce B.

"Paisley was an ideal location, given the availability of labour supply, affordable housing, and proximity to the Bruce Power site," says John Bradley, president and CEO of ABS Group of Companies, in a news release. "The 12,000 sq ft facility on 44 acres of land provides ABRAFLEX with the flexibility to grow our manufacturing, warehousing, and storage and repair areas as we expand our relationship with Bruce Power and the surrounding communities."

The company has 21 full-time employees and 12 additional workers trained and available for part-time employment.

"We are thrilled to have formed a partnership with ABRAFLEX, a Certified Aboriginal Business, that is able to supply Bruce Power with products and services locally," says Richard Horrobin, Bruce Power's vice president, supply chain. "We look forward to advancing this relationship over the coming years."
