PJHL Wrap: Patriots and Bulldogs Earn Wins

Mount Forest 7 Huntsville 3

After a back-and-forth first period the Mount Forest Patriots took the lead for good with two goals in each the second and third periods, beating Huntsville 7-3.

Michael Stefanelli put the Patriots on the board at 1:19 of the first. and Klayton Hoelscher scored on the power play four-and-a-half minutes later. George Wood's unassisted goal put the Otters on the board at 7:21 of the opening frame. Brendon Aitken scored at 14:22 to give the Patriots a two goal lead and Huntsville fired two past Aidan Quish to even the score at 3-3 heading into the second.

Hayden Coulter's goal just 55 seconds into the middle frame would stand as the game winner and Hoelscher's second goal of the game would add insurance for the Patriots. Ryley Cribbin and Brendon Aitken scored in the third for Mount Forest.

Quish earned the win with 28 saves. Ty Sparling made 36 saves for the Otters.

Cribbin led the Patriots offense with a goal and three assists. Hoelscher struck twice and set up another for the Patriots.

Kincardine 3 Mitchell 0

Craig Luinstra stopped all 32 shots he faced to lead the Kincardine Bulldogs to a 3-0 win over Mitchell.

Keegan Angel had two assists for the Bulldogs.

Kincardine got goals from Brett Burrows, Connor Gibson and Tyler Sutton.
