Tomorrow there will be a special photo presentation for the book launch of The Heart of Turtle Island: The Niagara Escarpment by accomplished author Mark Zelinski.
The book is a photo history of the escarpment, detailing the diverse Indigenous and settler communities that thrive along its rugged, curving path, including Owen Sound.
Zelinski says the book covers a large portion of Midwestern Ontario.
"It covers the escarpment from Niagara Falls to the Western tip of Manitoulin Island. There's a lot of content from the central part of the escarpment, from Owen Sound, Meaford, Collingwood, Bruce Peninsula," he says.
Zelinski says the book is a compilation of work from specialist writers.
"There's really a lot of content from that area that really hasn't been done before," he says. "It's a photo book but there's 12 chapters from 12 specialist authors who are experts in their field."
The event is at the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library. Doors are at 6:30pm with the event running 7pm until 8:30pm.
