The Saugeen Shores Police Service will soon welcome a new chief of police.
Mike Bellai will be sworn in as chief on December 1 at the Saugeen Shores Municipal Office.
Chief Bellai comes from the Stratford Police Service, where he has served for 27 years, progressing through the ranks of sergeant, inspector, deputy chief and chief.
He began his career with the Peel Regional Police Service in 1988 then moved to the Stratford Police Service in 1990.
Police Chief Dan Rivett is scheduled to retire in November after 11 years with the Saugeen Shores Police Service. The police service has 22 full-time officers.
