United Way Perth-Huron Launches New Campaign

United Way Perth-Huron takes it's 2017-18 campaign on the road Monday.   It's a day-long tour that features seven stops.

It starts at 8:30 Monday morning at the Kraft-Heinz Action Centre in St. Marys. From there it moves to the Milverton Community Outreach Centre at 9:55, and Ward and Uptigrove in Listowel at 11:00 o'clock.

Afternoon stops include the Royal Oaks Hub in Wingham at 1:05; the Courthouse Park stage in Goderich at 2:15; the Huron County Health Unit office in Clinton at 3:10; and Exeter Town Hall at 4:05.

United Way Perth-Huron announced Friday that it's 2017-2018 goal is $1.55 million dollars. Money donated during United Way’s annual campaign helps close to 50 local organizations and programs.

Ryan Erb, Executive Director Ryan Erb explained, "To meet the needs we’ve identified in our community we have to be bold. But if by aiming high we ensure more people gain access to important programs and services, it’s worth the risk."

United Way’s ambitions for the 2017-18 campaign appear to be justified; $237,187.90 has already been raised.

Wayne Smith, UWPH Board President added, "We’re really excited about this year’s campaign. We want to not only sustain but grow the support we provide to the communities in Perth and Huron counties."
