A teenage girl from Owen Sound is facing assault charges.
Police were called to a west side housing complex Sunday after receiving complaints from two adult women that they had been assaulted.
It is alleged that a 14-year-old girl confronted the women about a family pet. During the argument, the teen is alleged to have punched one woman in the chest. When the victim’s friend intervened, she was punched in the eye.
The aggressor then left the scene in a car. Several hours later, an officer on patrol arrested the teen without incident.
She is charged with two counts of assault, and one count of failing to comply with probation. She is to attend Ontario Court of Justice in early October.
Injuries to the victims did not require medical attention.
