Huron County OPP Arrest Two Males With Drugs And Weapons

Two Huron County males have been charged with drug and weapons related offences after a traffic stop in Vanastra last week.

At 1:19am on July 19th, and officer noticed a driver of a minivan fail to signal his turn at the intersection of St. Charles Place and 5th Avenue. The vehicle was stopped and during the interview with the driver the officer noticed an open beer can in the vehicle. Upon inspection, officers located and seized open alcohol, a collapsible baton, drug paraphernalia and a substantial amount of methamphetamine. Both the driver and passenger were arrested without incident.

The driver, 38-year-old Kevin Barry, and the passenger, 35-year-old Manos Wardell, have both been charged and have scheduled court appearances for August 14th and July 27th, respectively.

Barry has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking, Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 14, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.

Wardell has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purposes of Trafficking, Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Fail to Comply with Probation Order (4) counts and Fail to Comply with Prohibition Order (3) counts. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 27, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
