Central Huron Facilities Manager Retires

Central Huron is about to lose the only facilities manager it's ever had.

Steve Campbell has been with the Town of Clinton for about 40 years now and is retiring at the end of this month.

He was the recreation director until the town amalgamated to become part of Central Huron and at that time Campbell became the facilities manager.

He says there are several highlights that stand out during his four decades with the town. One of them was the construction of the new arena and how the community rallied around that project. Campbell was also involved in the construction of the town hall and library back in the early '80s.  He was very involved in the Clinton Raceway because of what it's meant to the town and has also served on the fire department.

Campbell says what really stands out is the people he's had the pleasure of working and particularly the volunteers who are the backbone of the community. Campbell says it was very disturbing to see the damage caused by the recent downtown fires, but it was also encouraging to see how the people in the community rallied to recover.  He says he's looking forward to seeing that continue.
