The long time executive director of the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce retires at the end of the month.
Deborah Barker has held the position for 22 years.
Barker was joined at the society office on Friday for a gathering of friends, family and co-workers to wish her well in her future endeavours.
Barker says the rewards of helping people with Alzheimer disease and their families have been many.
"Being able to provide the support we can offer to clients, having fabulous staff who have the skills and abilities to provide the best support possible and amazing volunteers," says Barker.
Barker plans to focus on her family and her hobbies in retirement but will also stay connected with the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce because of the important services it provides.
She'll be replaced as executive director by Stephen Musehl of Chesley.
