Golfers Demonstrate Support For Huron Hospice

The site development chair for the Huron Residential Hospice says now that they've signed an agreement to purchase a home on Hwy. 8 across from the Woodland Golf Course near Clinton, people have something tangible to look at and can be confident it will be the new residential hospice site.

Kathy O'Reilly explains they want people to understand the 12-acre property is not just a place for people to come to die, but is also a place of living.

They expect to host things like weddings, anniversaries and family re-unions on the property, and their objective is to provide a place where families can continue to be together, and patients can continue to live right up until the end.

Municipal officials and members of the hospice board were invited to tour the home ahead of the Warden's Golf Tournament on Friday.

Seventy golfers took part in the tournament and raised around $10,000 for the hospice.
