Minto is hoping to have several new pedestrian crossovers in place before the start of the school year.
There are six crossings that could be changed; three in Palmerston and three in Harriston.
$10,000 has been budgeted for the new crossover at Main and William streets in downtown Palmerston.
The crossover will have flashing lights, an overhead sign, and markings painted on the road.
