Goderich Council Approves Compressed Air Storage Site Plan

An amended site plan for a project that would see compressed air stored underground at a site on Mill Road in Goderich was approved by Goderich council last night.

Mayor Kevin Morrison explains the original site plan had already been approved but neighbours had expressed some concerns and they were addressed in the amended plan. Morrison says the original site plan included stacks that were as much as 25 feet high but improvements in technology now allow them to accomplish the same thing with horizontal, rather than verical, stacks which would be much more attractive as far as the neighbours were concerned.

The amended site plan was approved and work on the project can start as soon as their Provincial approvals are finalized.
