The Community Fund-raising Specialist with the Goderich Relay for Life team says support from the community is keeping the Relay alive in Goderich.
Laura Pethick says she believes this is the 12th or 13th Relay in Goderich and they took a break about three years ago but came back because the town said they wanted to support Relay for Life. Pethick says they're very proud of the ten to twelve teams that came out last year and again this year and a town with a population of eight thousand should be very proud of the amount of money they raise. Pethick says they raised almost 30-thousand dollars last year.
She points out sponsors purchased 23 luminary letters this year and they lit up the sky over the Goderich Collegiate track last night to spell Cancer Changes Everything.
