A Bluevale native attending post-secondary in Kingston had a great showing at the recent Ontario Skills Competition, and subsequent Nationals competition.
Stephanie-Rachel Kuepfer of St. Lawrence College in Kingston won a gold medal in her area of expertise, aesthetics, at the prestigious competition, earning herself a berth in the national competition in Winnipeg which took place May 31st to June 3rd. Stephanie also took the gold at the Nationals. This was the 9th straight year a St. Lawrence student won the aesthetics gold.
Skills Ontario partners provided roughly $10 million in support for the materials used by 2,300 competitors from post-secondary, high school and elementary programs.
Toronto played host to the Ontario Skills Competition for the first time in 19 years, previously held in Waterloo during that time.
