Seventh Annual Rural Romp This Weekend In North Wellington

Visitors can experience local agriculture and taste local food during the seventh annual Spring Rural Romp in Northern Wellington County.

People will have the chance to visit 13 locations including farms, markets, garden centres, and a bed and breakfast.

The Rural Romp takes place between 10am and 4pm in Mapleton, Minto and Wellington North this Saturday.

Rompers will get a chance to visit with farm animals, go on wagon rides, join activities, and taste local food samples. You can also buy seedlings, flowers, plants, spring produce and local food.

People can visit any or all of the participating locations during the free self-guided tour. You can get the new 2017 2018 Guelph Wellington Local Food map which has information on farms, restaurants, retailers, breweries, food events and more.

There are also prizes for farm selfies, and best photos.

As well, visitors are encouraged to take a felfie (farm-selfie) at each location and share the fun via social media using the hashtags #SpringRomp17 and #tastereal.  All selfies will be entered in a draw to win a local food prize.  Rompers also have the opportunity to participate in the Spring Romp Photo Contest. Prizes will be awarded for the best photo in three different categories: farmscapes, family fun, and food.

For more information on the photo contest, or to download your copy of the Rural Romp Guide, visit www.tastereal.ca.
