Hanover Approves Downtown Facade Incentive Projects

More properties in downtown Hanover are receiving funding from the town's Facade Incentive Program.

Council approved a staff recommendation Monday night to grant funding for four projects.

The Downtown Revitalization Implementation Committee considered applications for the fourth intake, and awarded a total of just over $24,000.

The businesses that were approved -- Lyons & Company, Switzer Properties, Grey Rose Suites, and Shewfelt Properties -- are all located on 10th St.

The Hanover Facade Incentive Program was launched in 2014 and has seen an investment of over $192,000 in grants from the municipality.

"The Facade Incentive Program has resulted in tremendous improvements in the visual and structural condition of downtown Hanover. Our downtown leaves a lasting impression with visitors and generates excitement with residents," says Mayor Sue Paterson. "Council and staff are pleased to support this program that encourages partnerships between local business and the municipality."
