The Town of Saugeen Shores is hosting its first Volunteer Fair this week.
Community groups and potential volunteers will be brought together in one place. It's scheduled for Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm, upstairs at the Plex in Port Elgin.
The event has received significant support and positive feedback from the community. Over 30 groups have signed up so far.
Groups, events, and clubs can take part at no cost and are asked to register before the end of the day on Monday.

"There are individuals out there looking to get involved and unsure where to begin," says Lisa Billing, recreation supervisor with the Town of Saugeen Shores. "There are also many groups, events and service clubs seeking new volunteers who just can’t seem to reach the right people."
