Car Crashes Into Bank In Stratford

There were no injuries when a car plowed into a bank in Stratford Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to the TD Bank on Ontario St. over the noon hour after a car crashed through the front window of the bank, stopping near the teller’s desks.

The car was driven by a 67-year-old Stratford man. Even though the bank was quite busy, there were no injuries to either the driver or any of the bank customers.

The driver later told police he thought he had applied the brake to stop, but hit the accelerator pedal instead.

Damage to the car was estimated at $3,500.  Damage to the bank is estimated at $10,000.
