There won't be a rainbow crosswalk in Goderich this summer.
After a presentation by Kathleen Greer-Armour representing the Goderich Pride Community, several councillors made speeches both for and against the rainbow crosswalk.
But the recorded vote was 4-3 against allowing a rainbow crosswalk on the Square at West St.
Mayor Kevin Morrison stated previously that he feels a rainbow crosswalk would be a step backwards.
Morrison, who is gay, says creating a rainbow crosswalk separates gay people from the community - rather than including them, and attempts to solve a problem that doesn't exist in Goderich.
