Date Announced For Hometown Heroes Charity Hockey Game

Huron-Bruce M-P Ben Lobb announced the date of this year's Hometown Heroes Charity Hockey game on Friday.

This the fourth year for the event and Lobb says the first three games have raised more than 130-thousand dollars for the Goderich-Huron YMCA’s Strong Kids campaign, Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health and Alexandra Marine & General Hospital.

The Hometown Heroes game has become more popular with the players every year and now attracts current and former NHL players and well as junior players hoping to make it to the big stage.

Lobb says the last couple of games have also been more competitive so the players have more fun and the fans get a great show.

Lobb says local corporate support has really helped develop the game and they keep the prices of five dollars for kids and ten for adults where they are so a family can afford to enjoy an evening of entertainment and the kids get to meet the players and get autographs after the game.

The 4th Annual Hometown Heroes “Raise a Little Health” Charity Hockey Game will take place Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Goderich-Huron YMCA.More information about the Hometown Heroes Hockey game can be found on their Twitter or Facebook page or their website.
