ABCA Asking For Local Students' Input On Environmental Issues

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority is asking is asking students in the watershed to demonstrate through a video what they would like to do to improve their environment.

ABCA Conservation Educator Melissa Prout explains they're challenging students, either in small groups or as a class, to look around their community and identify in a short video what they see as problems or concerns with natural features like creeks or rivers and then explain how they would address those issues. Prout says the video should be one to three minutes in length and has to be submitted by April 3rd so the winners can be announced during Earth Week.

Prout adds one of the objectives of the contest is to demonstrate how many small groups and individuals are doing things to help their environment at the local level and that shouldn't always be left to governments or large corporations. The winners of the contest can win up to one-thousand dollars to implement their solution.

More information about the Watershed Warriors Video contest can be found on the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority web site.
