The renovations on the Blyth Memorial Hall are nearly complete.
North Huron Director of Recreation and Facilities Pat Newson says it is nearly ready to be turned over for the festival.
"We're right on target. We anticipate by the end of March, we will have what we call substantial completion. So, really 98% of that project is done, we just have to do the outside landscaping, and any deficiencies, and we will be ready to turn that building over on May 21st, to 1419 Inc., and the festival for them to use."
The renovations were completed with money from 1419 Inc., the township, and a lot of fundraising dollars gathered in the municipality, as well as some grants that were awarded from the province and federal government.
"We got a large grant from the province, a large grant from the federal government. The Township contributed $500,000, and now through private donations and seat sales, we've been able to increase that budget for the project. So some of those extras we've been able to add to the building, and it's going to be a completely finished renovation when we hand that building over."
The original project budget was roughly 3.8 million, but was allowed to increase to almost 4.127 million with added funds.
