Cyclones, Warriors And Sugar Kings All Winners In GOJHL

Listowel 6 Guelph 2

Blake Nichol struck twice and set up one more as the Listowel Cyclones topped the Guelph Hurricanes 6-2 in the GOJHL.

Alec Tiley earned three points in the win with three assists.

Other Listowel scorers: Jakob Lee, Mitch Deelstra, Tommy Hoogars and Holdyn Lansink.

Brock Baier earned the win with 20 saves. Jacob Hutchings made 33 saves for the Hurricanes.

Graham Evans led Guelph's offense with a goal and an assist.

Stratford 2 Brampton 1

Jack Scanlan scored the OT winner for Stratford as the Warriors edged Brampton 2-1.

Dante Sheriff opened the scoring on the power play just over a minute into the second period to give the Bombers a 1-0 led. Hayden Broomhead tied the game for the Warriors with a power play goal of his own at 16:10 of the middle frame.

Rock Boynton stopped 18 shots for the Warriors. Brendon Landry made 35 saves for the Bombers.

Elmira 3 Brantford 2

Jeremey Goodwin scored twice in the second and Jeff Jordan had the game winner early in the third as the Elmira Sugar Kings edged Brantford 3-2.

The 99ers jumped out to an early lead with a power play goal by Brandon Scanlin at 7:08 of the first. Kevin Bray put the 99ers up 2-0 with a short handed goal at 13:13 of the opening period.

Goodwin answered for Elmira on the power play at 11:34 of the second. He tied the game just over three minutes later.

Jordan's game winner game at 2:11 of the third.

Tyler Mazzocato made 26 saves for Elmira. Aidan Link stopped 37 shots for the 99ers.
