Owen Sound fire crews were able to quickly put out a fire in the 1300 block of 4th Avenue East last night that was caused by a lap top.
In a release, Owen Sound Police say they responded to the call around 9:18 last night along with EMS and Owen Sound Fire Department. The fire was quickly put out and contained to an upstairs bedroom.
Police say an unattended lap top left on a bed appeared to overheat and start the fire.
Four people in the home and their pets were able to get out without injuries. Damage is estimated at $15,000.
Police are reminding people to store devices like laptops on a hard surface to allow for proper cooling.
