Wellington North Strategic Plan Plotting Bright Future

Wellington North council reviewed an update for the Wellington North Strategic Plan at council this week.

CAO Michael Givens gave an overview of what the goals of the Strategic Plan are, specifically in terms of community growth.

"We know there has been significant growth in this community, and we want to ensure that we are able to best handle future growth, create a vision for that growth and do it in a way that makes sense."

Part of the plan going forward is strategic partnerships within the municipality. Givens touched on what sort of partnerships they want to create or maintain.

"We have lots of community groups and we want to work with them and support them going forward. We also want to make sure we have a partnership with the school board, with the county of Wellington, and neighbouring municipalities, too."

Givens says it is important to make sure the municipality has a consistent presentation of itself, and another part of the plan is establishing a consistent identity and brand.

"That's a big part of this, as far as consistency on our site, Facebook, Twitter, and our public outreach. We want to display the things that are great about Wellington North, and have council and staff feel and show pride out in the community."
