The Huron County Health Unit will start conducting a survey in the next week to help identify some of the things that might encourage more families and young people to become more active.
Bonnie Baynham is the Project Manager for Healthy Kids Community Challenge Huron.
She explains a group called Forum Research will be making about 500 phone calls to randomly-chosen homes in Huron County to determine what obstacles exist to healthy activity to families in Huron County.
"We're trying to assess needs in the community as they relate to healthy active living, specifically in areas of activity in healthy eating," says Baynham. "I think this survey is really going to support our work. We want recreation and leisure to be accessible to all families."
Baynham asks people who receive the call to take about ten minutes to answer the questions to help their children enjoy a more active life.
