Dundalk Eco Industrial Park Could Get New Tenant

A proposal to convert wood chips into electricity came before Southgate council this week.

Petawawa Renewable Power Corporation asked council for a lease on two hectares of land in the Dundalk Eco Industrial Park. It's for a $4-million recycling plant.

Company spokesperson Mark Bell says it will be clean, quiet, and produce enough energy to power 360 households from one large truckload of raw materials per day.

Southgate councillors had a lot of questions, and plan to meet again with the company before making a decision on the lease of property.
