Bruce Peninsula OPP want to remind citizens not to feed any wild animals under any circumstances.
Reports around the county of people feeding wild animals have been coming into the OPP offices, and the police want to ensure public safety by avoiding contact with wild animals.
Feeding wild animals not only poses threats to humans, particularly curious children, but also the animals themselves, who cannot digest human food properly.
Citizens also run the risk of encountering wild animals with rabies or other dangerous diseases, and the OPP want people who see animals exhibiting odd behaviour to call animal control and keep a safe distance. Bruce Peninsula Animal Control can be reached at 519-534-1400 ext. 143 or 226-668-5601.
