Aerial Ladder Truck From Oregon Coming To Minto

Minto has decided to replace its 1989 aerial ladder truck with a $290,000 used truck coming from Oregon.

The 2004 model is expected to last 25 years, and its 110 ft length can fit in the Harriston fire hall.

The truck is essential for reaching tall buildings, particularly some of the three-storey buildings in the downtowns.

The old aerial truck has had some recent major breakdowns and is no longer useable.

Minto Fire Chief Chris Harrow says the new truck is in excellent shape, and the municipality will get some pay back when it is needed by some surrounding municipalities.
