Bruce Power Announces Aboriginal Investment Opportunities

Bruce Power is launching a four-year Aboriginal Community Investment Fund.

The $1.2-million fund will accept applications early next year from local First Nations and Metis communities.  Program funding will be for local community initiatives, education, the environment, training and youth development.

The company plans to invest a total of $300,000 per year over the four-year period.

The fund will start accepting applications through the community investment page on www.brucepower.com on January 11, 2016.

"Bruce Power is excited to launch this new Aboriginal Community Investment Fund that will be available to local First Nations and Metis communities, as we work together to support their important initiatives," says James Scongack, Bruce Power’s vice president, corporate affairs. "This is consistent with our long-standing commitment to do our part in building strong communities and to be a company that is focused on progressive Aboriginal relations."
