About forty community professionals met at the Huron County Health Unit Monday to help the Perth Huron United Ways Social Research and Planning Council gather input into their new Community Trends platform.
Director Tracy Birtch explains the team will track a number of social and economic issue in a community like education, environment, community vitality and living standards.
By recording and tracking the various trends, Birtch says they can determine what's working in a community and what needs a little help.
She adds over time, the trends will allow them to anticipate problems and address them as soon as they start become an issue. Birtch adds it will probably take at least a year to develop and good depth of indicators that will allow them to reliably identify trends.
