The Goderich Viking Field Hockey team was recognized at Goderich council last night.
The Vikings advanced to the OFSSA gold medal match in Peterborough, losing 4 – 2 to Resurrection Phoenix from Kitchener. Coach Ray Lewis says it was a great game and was tied at two with 12 minutes left in the game. Lewis says Goderich has a field hockey team for about 14 years now and the team has continued to improve each year.
They have a 22 players fairly evenly spread out from grade nine to grade twelve and the success of this year only adds to the excitement looking forward to next year.
