Meaford Draft Budget Presented For 2016

A Meaford taxpayer with a home assessed at 254 thousand dollars can expect to pay about 25 dollars more in property tax next year.

Treasurer Darcy Chapman announced the tax levy increase while introducing Meaford’s 2016 draft budget to council.

Meaford households will also pay more for their potable water supply and waste water disposal.

Council will get a chance to ask questions about the draft budget at a special meeting on Monday, October 26th.

Local taxpayers will be invited to three different budget meetings over the next two months.

The first will be held in the council chamber November 9th; the second at Trinity United Church in Annan November 16th; and the third at Bognor Community Hall December 7th.
