Sugar Kings Hammer Cyclones; Bombers Edge Cullitons

Zac Coulter had a hat trick and two assists as the Elmira Sugar Kings hammered the Listowel Cyclones 8-1 in GOJHL action. All of Coulter's goals game in the third period, two were on the power play.

The Sugar Kings made the most of the man advantage, scoring five of their goals on the power play.

Brady Anderson was the lone scorer for Listowel. His goal came early in the third period assisted by Keaton Willis and Tim Nauta.

In Brampton, the Bombers edged the visiting Stratford Cullitons 3-2. Hayden Broomhead put the Cullitons up 1-0 with an unassisted goal just 11 seconds into the game but the Bombers recovered and scored three unanswered goals of their own.

Stratford's Deven Kropf would find the net again in the dying minutes of the game but it wasn't enough to force extra time.

Nick Redmen suffered the loss for the Cullitons making 27 saves.

It was a close game in Western Junior C action.

Walkerton narrowly beat Kincardine 3-2 in the leagues only game of the day.

Kincardine took the lead in the first period when Patrick Wiejak opened the scoring at 15:15. Walkerton's Tyler Cunningham would answer for the Hawks before the period was out.

Two more Hawks goals in the second would put Walkerton up 3-1. Those came courtesy of Brooks Nelthorpe and Spencer Elder.

Keegan Angel scored in the final two minutes of the frame to put the Bulldogs within a goal of the visiting team.

Neither team was able to score in the third.
