Mildmay-Carrick Recreation Complex Getting Elevator

The Mildmay Carrick Recreation Complex is getting federal funding to make it more accessible.

Huron-Bruce Conservative MP Ben Lobb has announced a grant of $29,900 for the Municipality of South Bruce through the Enabling Accessibility Fund.

That will help pay for the installation of an elevator at the Mildmay Carrick Recreation Complex.

Since 2009, the Government of Canada has funded over 17 projects, totaling close to $500,000 to help residents of Huron-Bruce get better access to their communities' facilities, programs and services.

"The Municipality of South Bruce is dedicated to being responsive to the needs of its community by recognizing the diversity of all residents and providing services and facilities that are accessible to all," says South Bruce Mayor Robert Buckle. "Improving access to municipally owned facilities will enhance the quality of life, and provide a safe and desirable environment."
