Employer Of Distinction Award For Wellington County

The County of Wellington has won another award.

The county received the 2015 Employer of Distinction Award at an Award Ceremony presented by the Guelph and District Human Resources Professionals Association.

The award recognizes local companies for being outstanding employers who shape organizational excellence and raise awareness of the human resources profession.

Wellington County won in the Large Employer category.

The County of Wellington is also a finalist at the Canadian HR Awards in the inaugural category of Best HR Team for employers with more than 500 employees. The winner will be announced in September at an event in Toronto.

Last year, the County of Wellington won for Best Health and Wellness Strategy and was also a finalist for Best HR Communications Strategy.

"The success of the County has been achieved with building blocks over many years, creating the organization it is today," says Andrea Lawson, director of human resources for the County of Wellington. "Being a Public Sector organization, we need to be creative in terms of how to recognize our staff members and their achievements. Receiving Awards like this helps to recognize the achievements of the County as well as our staff members, and the hard work they do day after day."
