Jr. hockey wrap-up – September 19, 2018

The LaSalle Vipers edged the Leamington Flyers 5-4 in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

Brett Vorshuk led LaSalle with two goals, while Jack Bowler, Stephane Crevier, and Evan Ferguson each added one.

Griffin Robinson scored twice for Leamington, while Zach Taylor and Adam Jeffery both scored once.

The Flyers will look to bounce back on Thursday when they take on the Komoka Kings in Leamington at 7:10 p.m. And then on Saturday, the Vipers are in Strathroy to battle the Rockets at 7:30 p.m.

Also in Junior B hockey, the London Nationals shutout the St. Marys Lincolns 9-0.

Bryce Kilbourne and Riley MacRae were the top scorers for London with two goals each. James Turner, Kyle Dawson, Tyson Kielt, Max Vinogradov and Christian Polillo all scored one goal.

The two teams will head to St. Marys to face off again on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

And in the PJHL, the Wallaceburg Lakers dropped a 6-1 decision to the Dresden Kings.

Nolen Vandanborn scored four goals for Dresden, while Cory Lucier and Elijah Duquette each added one.

The Kings return home on Friday to take on the Lakeshore Canadiens at 7:30 p.m. And then on September 26, the Lakers are in Wheatley to play the Sharks at 7:30 p.m.

Also, the Wheatley Sharks topped the Mooretown Flags 3-2.

Alix Saliba scored twice for Wheatley and Braedon Caetano added another goal of his own.

The Sharks will travel to Petrolia on Thursday to face off against the Flyers at 7:30 p.m.
