Knights Complete Trade With Frontenacs

New players will be hitting London's ice after the Knights completed a trade with the Kingston Frontenacs.

The London Knights announced on Sunday that the team has acquired Sergey Popov and priority selections from Kingston in exchange for forward Max Jones.

“Max has been a very important part of our team since we originally drafted him, and we would like to thank him for all of his contributions in London,” says Knights General Manager Rob Simpson. “Max has been a great member of our organization, especially during our 2015-2016 MasterCard Memorial Cup Championship season. We wish for the best for Max throughout his hockey career.”

Popov was originally drafted by the Kingston Frontenacs in the second round of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection. He will wear number 47 for the Knights.

“We are excited to bring Sergey in to London,” says Simpson. “He brings a tremendous set of skills to our lineup, and we look forward to having him contribute right away.”

The Knights will also receive Kingston’ 2nd round pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection, and Kingston’s 3rd round pick in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.
