Knights Beat Sting 4-1, Sweep New Year's Weekend Series

The London Knights scored four straight goals to sweep the Sarnia Sting.

London spotted Sarnia an early goal, but it was all Knights after that as they won 4-1 at Budweiser Gardens Monday afternoon, sweeping the New Year's weekend series between the two teams.

The Knights start off 2018 with 41 points, moving past the idle Guelph Storm for second place in the OHL Midwest Division. The Sting stay pat at second place in the West Division with 52 points.

Both teams had 32 shots on goal. Jordan Kooy stopped all but one in the London net. Justin Fazio had 28 saves for Sarnia.

Drake Rymsha put Sarnia on the board first, just past the midway point of the first period with a power play goal. Tyler Rollo tied the game up for London before the first intermission.

Andrew Perrott scored what would become the game-winner for the Knights in the second period, the frame's only goal.

In the third period, insurance came from the stick of Dalton Duhart with his first career OHL goal. Cole Tymkin completed the scoring for the Knights.

The Sting host the Saginaw Spirit Wednesday night, while the Knights travel to Barrie Thursday.
